MIntroducing the MXM Maintenance Mark

Universal Maintenance Passport

The verifiable maintenance history for every asset.

Universal Maintenance Passport is a portable, digitally-signed record of an asset's maintenance history that any counterparty can verify in under 60 seconds.

[01] THE PROBLEMTRUST IS BROKEN

Maintenance history is broken.

Asset records are scattered, unverifiable, and impossible to trust at scale.

Fragmented records

Maintenance records live in PDFs, ERPs, and local drives; buyers and auditors still read them manually.

Proof doesn't travel

Workflow platforms do their job well, but proof stays inside. Counterparties can't verify what they can't access.

Regulatory gap

Regulators now explicitly accept electronic records and signatures, but don't tell you how to make them portable or verifiable.

Compliance incoming

EU product and battery passport laws will force structured lifecycle data into existence; your maintenance story will be part of that whether you like it or not.

Universal Maintenance Passport is a vendor-neutral standard and service that represents maintenance and inspection events as digitally signed credentials. Each event is anchored to an immutable ledger with evidence hashes and asset identifiers. A Passport Pack is a selected bundle of those events and proofs that can be shared with auditors, lenders, insurers, buyers, and regulators.

System of proof, not system of work.

CMMS/EAM/ERPs remain the system of work; UMP makes their outputs portable, cryptographically verifiable, and inspection-ready.

[02] WHO IT'S FORTHE ECOSYSTEM
[03] HOW IT WORKSSIMPLE BY DESIGN

Three steps to verifiable maintenance.

Issue credentials, anchor to a ledger, verify anywhere.

01. Issue

Work is done. The issuer app or SDK creates a signed maintenance credential (W3C VC 2.0 + JWS) bound to the asset and evidence.

  • Capture photos, meter readings, parts used
  • Sign with issuer's cryptographic key
  • Bind to asset identifier (VIN, serial, tail number)

02. Anchor

Hash of the credential goes into an append-only ledger (QLDB) and optionally a transparency log, ensuring tamper-evidence.

  • Immutable hash anchoring
  • Append-only ledger (AWS QLDB)
  • Optional transparency log (Sigstore-style)

03. Verify

A counterparty pastes a link into the Verifier Portal (or calls an API) and gets Signature ✓, Ledger ✓, Evidence ✓ in under 60 seconds.

  • Instant cryptographic verification
  • Risk flags and anomaly detection
  • Complete audit trail
[04] WHY NOWWINDOW CLOSING

The window is closing.

Regulations and market forces are converging. Early movers will set the standard.

EU Digital Product Passports

Mandatory from 2027 for batteries. Regulated products must carry lifecycle data, including operational and maintenance information.

FAA AC 120-78B

Explicitly allows electronic signatures and maintenance records. Digital logbook vendors already use it.

ISO 15143-3 / AEMP 2.0

Telematics standards unify hours and faults across heavy-equipment fleets. The data to prove maintenance now exists across OEMs.

Market pressure

Underwriters and buyers already price on service history; they just don't have cryptographically provable histories yet.
